About the Seminar:

In 2023, ADB committed $2.6 billion in sovereign funding for projects that aim to strengthen urban development; support industrial corridor development; promote power sector reforms; build India’s climate resilience; support horticulture; and enhance connectivity including to economic clusters, markets, and rural communities. ADB also extended $23.53 million (including cofinancing) in technical assistance and $4.1 million (including cofinancing) in grants under the sovereign portfolio. Along with strengthening our sovereign portfolio, ADB has also endeavored to scale up its private sector operations in India. ADB private sector operations portfolio aggregated $2.39 billion at the end of December 2023.

Advantages of ADB-Funded Projects. Participation in ADB funded projects offers various advantages like interest free mobilization advances, customs and excise duty exemptions, transparent and fair procurement procedures, and International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) conditions of contract.

Objectives of the BOS. The seminar will focus on (i) access to ADB’s business opportunities through an online demonstration of ADB website; (ii) presentations by Government agencies implementing ADB funded projects on business opportunities available in their respective projects; and (iii) presentation of case studies on how to bid successfully in ADB. The seminar will also provide an opportunity for participants to make individual queries to procurement specialists from ADB.
